Writing SOPs

Properly implemented SOPs are important for knowledge capture, quality control, and process improvement. The principle of an agile ISO implementation is to streamline ISO compliance using the tools and principles of business process management (BPM), which means being able to quickly and effortlessly build and modify new processes in collaboration with others, with the goal of developing a robust process library that is actionable, automated, effective, and efficient. This approach avoids many of the pitfalls of traditional SOP implementation.

Of course, all SOPs are different -- specific implementations will depend on the nature of the target process. However, SOPs should always reflect business goals.
